EvereTech is Hiring a Hydrologic Technician Near Idaho Falls, ID

Duties are directed toward field and office hydrologic data collection and analysis.

Collect hydrologic data, including well-water level measurements, using various methods and equipment; collect and preserve water samples for the analysis of chemical, sediment, or biological characteristics; run levels to river gaging stations; catalog and store sediment samples.

Assignments may include:

  • Assist with logging, photographing, and describing surveys at USGS river gaging stations.
  • Assists with collecting hydrologic data such as streamflow, groundwater, and water quality, using established methods, sometimes in adverse conditions.
  • Assists other hydrologic technicians and hydrologists.
  • Maintains, services, constructs, and troubleshoots sensing, recording, and communications equipment and instrumentation. Prepares repair logs on hydrologic instruments. Calibrates meters and analytical equipment using appropriate techniques and protocols. Constructs hydrologic data collection structures under general supervision.
  • Use a computer to execute data entry processes, review real-time data via the World Wide Web, and communicate with electronic data loggers, sensors, and field equipment.
  • Operates a government motor vehicle as an incidental driver.

Required Expertise:

  • Completion of one or more years of academic coursework, including geology and (or)environmental sciences and electronics.
  • Basic knowledge of hydrologic processes, methods, and techniques.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe.
  • The ability to sequentially apply standard hydrologic data collection and office computation procedures to collect, compute, and compile hydrologic data.
  • Knowledge of and ability to follow field and lab safety procedures.
  • Knowledge of one or more computer systems and automated databases to enter, transfer, retrieve, and manipulate hydrologic data
  • Knowledge of basic electronic technology and equipment mechanics to assist in the operation and maintenance of scientific instruments and equipment.
  • Must provide a valid state driver’s license and safe driving record.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.82 - $31.07 per hour
